Welcome to Robin Gerrard Photography!
We are a fine art boutique photography studio dedicated to capturing love and beauty in life, and specializing in wedding photography. As artists/wedding photographers, we strive to create images that are as distinctive as they are timelessly beautiful. We want you to enjoy every moment of your wedding day, while we take the utmost care in documenting it for you (and not directing it). We aim to take photographs with style and lasting beauty that are unique to you as a couple, and to capture what was actually happening and what you were feeling in those moments, so that when you look at your images you remember. Many of our clients come to us because they are interested in finding the best wedding photographers for their day. We try to go even further by not only giving them the best wedding photography they could hope for, but also the best experience. We don’t want to overwhelm you with the idea that you are “on camera”, so we use long lenses whenever possible so we can blend into the background and leave you to enjoy your day as though we were not even there.
With a background in Fine Art from Parsons School of Design, in New York, and over fifteen years of experience, Robin works throughout the United States and worldwide as a portrait and wedding photographer. She has photographed countless weddings that range from intimate elopements to grand society affairs, including two live weddings on NBC’s Today Show. Her work has been published in numerous editorial magazines such as Weddings Unveiled, Atlanta Weddings, Martha Stewart Weddings, and Grace Ormonde Wedding Style. In addition to her wedding photography, Robin coaches aspiring photographers in Atlanta, Ga and Sonoma / Napa Valley, Ca, and has been an instructional wedding photography speaker, sponsored by Canon, at the leading national wedding photography convention, WPPI, in Las Vegas. Robin is also excited to be a volunteer photographer for Team Summer, an uplifting organization where kids with cancer choose and present gifts to other kids with cancer.
“There is an art to the sensitive storytelling of a wedding. I have learned the importance of knowing what to photograph and how to capture it most powerfully. I believe that it is the real moments discovered and captured that become those truly timeless photographs that couples and their families treasure forever. As a photographer I am usually a quiet observer, working in the background with long lenses, as non-obtrusively as possible, photographing the real moments, expressions, and emotions as they happen. Unless a moment is documented as it unfolds, it is gone forever. How it is documented is also of utmost importance as that decision makes the difference between a snap shot and a work of art.”
